Education and Training
Education
The ultimate educational objective must be the establishment of a High School in Noon Bagla to accommodate students unable to access higher level education. Only by educating its children and helping them realise their potential can the area hope to achieve and sustain the regeneration that is desperately needed following the devastating earthquake of October 2005. KCF will do all it can to help the local community, particularly in negotiations with Government.
KCF SCHOOL OPENED MAY 2010
KCF is currently looking at supporting education through:-
i) The establishment of a private school;
ii) The provision of text books and other school necessities;
iii) Sponsoring pupils to higher level education (a questionnaire has been developed to identify potential which is currently being trialled).
Training
The region is desperately in need of skills development in such areas as carpentry, furniture manufacture, crafts, textiles and cottage gardening.
A textile project is already underway, supported by KCF, and currently up to fifty women and girls are being trained in stitching and cutting with the objective being to set up a manufacturing base. Profits would be used to pay wages and to support KCF. Some young men are also being trained in tailoring and it is hoped that more will be encouraged to take part.
